More on Montana and U.S. Supreme Court

Montana Governor Brian Schweitzer (D) and Lieutenant Governor John Bohlinger (R) state their case regarding the Supreme Court's action invalidating Montana's 100-year-old Corrupt Practices Act. Schweitzer and Bohlinger support an amendment of the U.S. Constitution with "corporations are not people."

The FDA supports a ban on corporations and labor organizations in election processes including candidate and party contributions and third party expenditures. The rational is that elections (and democracy) are about people; corporations are not people; and corporations are not allowed to vote. Individuals who are part of corporations and labor organizations are allowed to make political expenditures and make political speech. To treat corporations and labor organizations as people infringes on the rule of the people.
